Q1 2024 Update

Hello Aera Community,

This is our inaugural newsletter, which we'll releasequarterly to provide updates on our business and our progress toward achievingour mission of creating sustainable human habitats. The first quarter of 2024was very exciting here at Aera. Our focus has been on building relationshipsboth internally and externally to share our vision, learn, and establish afoundation for our future. To that end, we've brought on a key team member,opened our first office, participated in the International Mass Timber Conference,and conducted several site visits to learn from other leaders in thesustainable building space.

We're thrilled to announce Billy Wood as our newly hiredSenior Product Engineer. Billy brings a wealth of experience in productdevelopment and a personal and professional passion for quality, sustainableconstruction. He'll lead our product development efforts, working at theintersection of engineering, process development, project management, andproduct testing. Billy has been hard at work developing a modular buildingsystem that will allow us to construct high-performance homes rapidly andaffordably. Stay tuned for updates on our product development efforts. We'll bereleasing a series of videos, articles, and social posts as we develop anapproach for cross laminated timber single-family homes.

This month, we traveled across the country, meeting withleaders in the cross-laminated timber construction industry. The InternationalMass Timber Conference in Portland provided an excellent opportunity for us toconnect with some of the largest suppliers, architects, engineers, and thoughtleaders in the industry. We also spent time visiting a few cross-laminatedtimber construction projects as well as modular production facilities. Thesetrips were both informative and inspirational, providing us with theopportunity to learn from others' journeys and create a solid foundation forour product development efforts.

While this quarter has been very busy, the next will bringmany more exciting updates. Stay tuned for the announcement of our first twoprojects: a pilot project in partnership with Wonderful People Farm and aresidential community in Nashville. We'll also keep you all in the loop with aseries of videos and social posts as we continue our product developmentjourney. It is our intention to make our efforts as transparent as possible tohelp future clients learn about the homes they are purchasing and to furtherthe cause of sustainable construction.
